Lakeside Real Estate Offers A Modern Country Gem
Lakeside, CA is a small country feeling town just 20 minutes to downtown and all that San Diego has to offer. You can access all the culture and commerce of city life while basking in the peace and sunshine of small town living. If you aren’t familiar with Lakeside real estate, you may be delighted at what you’d find in an East County home. The real estate in Lakeside provides larger lots and yards, quiet roads, space between homes, and scenic sights and sounds that could inspire Norman Rockwell. Imagine looking out into your yard and NOT seeing the wall of your neighbors house/condo/apartment. The spaciousness of Lakeside neighborhoods feels strangely liberating. The absence of bumper to bumper to traffic and cessation of the relentless hustle bustle that comes along with San Diego life is akin to the calm provided by a nice glass of wine… or a Xanax, depending how hectic your life is.
Living in Zen
In essence, Lakeside is a town that seems a bit iconoclastic but in the best way, reminiscent of a time where you and time and space to grow and smell the roses. I’m in Lakeside several times a week as I have clients and family who live there, and each time I traverse the asphalt Savannah (either the 52 or the 8) as soon as I see the mountains and trees on the horizon, I feel relieved as if I’ve just finished meditating.
How wonderful would it be to wake and come home to this soothing peaceful feeling day in and and day out? Well, that’s what the the owners of Lakeside real estate get to enjoy daily. If you’re in the market for a family home, you may want to consider it and the 3 Bedroom 2 Bath, some 1700 Square Foot home for sale on Golden Ridge Rd. featured in the video below.

Modern Country Gem, 8724 Golden Ridge Road, Lakeside, CA 92040
This gorgeous single story home has been beautifully remodeled with all the contemporary fixings that city folk might crave, from granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, to ice-cold forced air and heat but it offers so much more. If breathtaking views are something you value in your future home, then this is the house for you. This could also be a great get-away spot for a second home. Gorgeous mountainous scenic views are available from the family room as well as the kitchen of this modern country gem. The front yard and tiered large back yard also give healthy servings of panoramic mountain views so sweet some have called them eye candy.
And did I mention it’s quiet? The only sounds you hear when you step out the door is the breeze and the birds chirping. Man, I have lived places where every day there was some different kind of landscaping going on where all I could think was shut the (insert expletive) up, baffled that the community management couldn’t figure to schedule it all on the same day each week! That’s city life, I guess. The point is, you won’t have that problem here. You can sip your tea (wine) and write (nap) or just sit outside and listen to the sounds of nature. For those who aren’t familiar with Lakeside real estate, it really is a great family community that feels like another era we’re all deep down nostalgic for.
One of my favorite places to visit is the community park at Lindo Lake, one of San Diego’s only natural lakes. Is small enough to walk around but there are many things to enjoy along the route from feeding geese, picnicking to skating in the neighborhood skate park. There’s also a library work out equipment and various play areas for kids. Just around the corner one will find DownTown Lakeside where you can grab a beer at East Bound or pick up some hardware at the community hardware store. Maybe if you’re lucky, you’ll bump into Opee or Andy.
Sometimes when I tell people I love Lakeside, I hear people say things like, ” It’s so far“. Not really. If you do the math its 20 miles from the coast, literally, well maybe give a couple miles. If you consider your typical San Diego commute you’re looking a 15-20 miles, depending on where you’re going. In some spots around the county, it can take you 15 minutes JUST TO GET ON THE FREEWAY. So given this quite realistic perspective a 20 minute drive is far on the better side of the commute spectrum in San Diego county. The photo above I snatched from Google Maps before 6PM. So in rush hour, which we all know is more like 3 hours, it’s just over 30 minutes clean out to the coast. So figure 15 minutes to the 15 or 805. Case in point, Lakeside is NOT FAR. At the end of the day, the space and calm you’re greeted with when you arrive is priceless. It really is.
